I was lucky enough to work with such a talented crew at Crop Circle Games as Lead Environment Artist, working on a really exciting project that sadly was cancelled when the studio closed. I worked closely with our amazing Tech Art crew, and helped pitch, build, and test out a lot of workflows that really helped set us up for success during pre-production. A big thanks to Allena, Max, and Richard for being the best and so collaborative during this project!

Randomizer Blueprint - A very cool toolset that allowed us to build out assets with linked supporting assets that can be setup to randomize based on placement - adding a lot of quick and controlled variation to our city building (and very easy to adjust per asset). This workflow was going to drive a large amount of our initial world building (from structural to organic).

SDF Material Workflow - This was a very exciting workflow Max and I worked on, focusing on utilizing small masked textures while giving us very crisp and unique results. This was also driven by world position - so each asset would have it's own seamless variation. This was our approach to replacing the lack of mesh instance vertex painting (before Mesh Painting was added in later versions). We also were working on volumes you can place to add even more unique details based on needs of world building. This combined with prim data workflow really helped give us a lot of control, as well as focusing on performance.

Metrics Ref Toolset - I worked on a Metrics Reference tool that made it very easy to test out metrics and character sizing while building out levels. Our game had some specific metrics for certain gameplay needs, and our world also featured various sizes of characters, from super small to very large.
